How BreedZ works

Start with the herd, link parents when you know them, and keep each animal history updated in a few simple steps for offline farm recordkeeping.

Add your animals

Start in the animals page and create one record for each animal you want to track.

Use the tag as the required unique identifier.

Name is optional, but it helps you recognize animals faster.

The free plan covers up to 20 animals.

Link dam and sire (Optional)

When parent information is known, connect lineage in the animal form so offspring history stays useful later.

Parent picker filters automatically.

You can leave lineage blank and fill it in later.

Record events as they happen

Use the animal timeline or the events page to log breeding, calving, purchases, sales, health, and herd expenses.

Use animal page for one animal.

Use the events page for shared events, purchases, and whole-herd expenses.

Check the overview

Open Overview to see herd totals, sales, purchases, recorded expenses, and the net recorded result.

Overview is a quick answer screen, not full accounting.

Review history per animal

Open an animal to see its timeline, linked parents, and linked offspring in one place.

Use this view to verify lineage and check the latest records before making decisions.

Back up and sync your records

Go to Settings to export an Excel backup or, with premium, sync animal and event changes so your account can bring them onto another device.

Excel export is useful for a manual copy you can keep outside the app.

Sync runs when you are signed in, premium is active, and the device is online. Sign in on another device to download synced records there.

Import replaces existing data. Export first to stay safe.

Tips

Good habits for safe recordkeeping

Add records the same day to avoid losing dates and details.

Use structured events for purchases, sales, and herd expenses before adding extra context in notes.

Use sync to keep records available on another device, or export a backup regularly if this device holds your main herd history.
